The University of Indianapolis Center for Aging & Community and the Indiana Department of Health will host 10 sessions of Abuse and Neglect Prevention for skilled nursing facility professionals during 2023 to 2025. These sessions will each be comprised of 1 day of instruction. The virtual training sessions are designed to serve as an introduction to abuse and neglect prevention with long term care specific content and examples.

Indiana skilled nursing facility professionals who are interested in abuse and neglect prevention.

Delivery Mode:
One-day, virtual training session. The class is designed to offer one day of virtual training. Class is 9 am – 3:30 pm ET each day. Please note: breaks will be given, and there is a half hour lunch period.
Content:
The virtual training sessions are designed to serve as an introduction to abuse and neglect prevention with long term care specific content and examples. The course will involve a pre-and post-test to reflect knowledge improvement.
Credential:
Participants will receive a Certificate: Abuse and Neglect Prevention in the Long-Term Care Setting. CEUs are available for administrators and social workers.
Cost:
Free.
This course is funded by the Indiana Department of Health using Civil Money Penalty funds from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
